OUR MODEL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY

The Lydia Tree seeks to be spiritually accountable, efficient and financially and ethically accountable, with effective corporate governance and operational leadership and well-defined standards that lay the groundwork for efficiency and integrity in our operations. 

Corporate Governance

We believe sound management and oversight are important characteristics of any organization, perhaps even more so for faith-based organizations.  We are incorporated as a nonprofit organization and governed by a Board of Directors and Officers according to state law.  The organization is governed by a Board of Directors, advisors and officers.

Board of Directors

Our governance comes from an active volunteer Board of Directors (and advisors as needed), who have experience in business, finance and ministry development, and who oversee the corporation according to our formal bylaws.  

Matters affecting the structure and core operations of The Lydia Tree are reviewed and approved by the Board.  All Board members have agreed to abide by our Conflict of Interest Policy.  


Operational Leadership

The Lydia Tree has no paid staff.  Management and administrative operations are carried out by the leadership team and  volunteers.  These activities include the daily administration, fundraising, coordination of activities and processing of grant requests.
